I recently had the honor of joining Tony Mantor on his acclaimed podcast, Why Not Me the World, to share my journey of transforming personal tragedy into advocacy for criminal justice reform.
In this episode, I delve into how an unexpected incarceration exposed deep flaws in the legal system, especially concerning neurodivergent individuals. Discovering my spouse’s high-functioning autism only after his sentencing highlighted the urgent need for systemic change.
We discuss my efforts to expose judicial misconduct, advocate for ending solitary confinement, and support others navigating similar challenges. I also share insights into my work with Resilience Education, Michigan Citizens for Prison Reform, and now Kalamazoo Defender, as well as the resources I’ve created to guide families through the legal system.
Tony’s platform is dedicated to amplifying voices that inspire change, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this mission.
