An oral argument in the Michigan Court of Appeals explored the case In Re DMT, where an Allegan County Resident was punished for sending emails to a a disgraced attorney.
DMT, the subject of the case, was charged with probation violations for cursing and expressing upset at his lawyer’s subpar performance.
Attorney Wayne Crowe, former employee of Wheeler Upham, failed to disclose his New York misconduct case before beginning practice in Michigan and taking on DMT as a client. Crowe has since served a 90 day suspension in New York and Michigan for his misconduct.
Attorney Barbara Kennedy is alleged to have covered for her former coworker Wayne Crowe’s misconduct.
Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Gadola expressed absolute dismay and puzzlement that anyone had authorized charges. Former Allegan County Prosecutor, Myrene Koch, and now removed Judge Roberts Kengis, were at the center of the case.
According to sources close to the situation, Judge Roberts Kengis regularly leveraged the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department as “muscle”, specifically Former Allegan County Sheriff Detective Chris Haverdink, in an attempt to control dissent.
