Judge Caroline Glennon-Goodman, Cook County, Illinois, has been reassigned after sharing a racist meme depicting a black toddler wearing a Little Tikes My First Ankle Monitor. According to the article by CWB Chicago, Judge Glennon-Goodman shared the still image pulled from a TikTok video, with another judge.

Judge Glennon-Goodman, a former public defender, has been on the bench since April 2024. She was not suspended, but was instead reassigned. She claims the message was for a friend and mistakeningly went to a judge with the same first name instead.
She was considered one of the more lenient judges, and still behaved this way. She is now required to complete bias training and has been referred to the Judicial Inquiry Board for investigation.
There is no word yet whether the Illinois Judicial Inquiry Board will be taking any action on the Judge’s inappropriate behavior. It appears their model is similar to that of Michigan, so my best guess is she will receive a private warning and retain her job.
It’s disheartening, it’s sad, it’s America.
