Thirty years of records, sorted from thirty years of noise. Built so you can read the documents yourself and see what they establish, what they don’t, and what has never been released.
JonBenét Ramsey was 6 when she was killed in her family’s Boulder, Colorado, home over Christmas night 1996. Her case may be the most discussed unsolved murder in the country, and almost none of that discussion is a record. Boulder police hold the complete file and have not released it. What the public can read is a partial set: officer reports, warrants, interview transcripts, the autopsy, lab reports, three bundles of records released under Colorado’s open records law, a federal court ruling and four grand jury pages released in 2013.
This library organizes that partial set and marks the holes in it.

The Resources
Record Index
Every category of public record, where it lives, and what kind of copy it is: court record, agency release, circulated scan or transcription. Includes the records the public file points to that have never been released, and two Michigan court files you can request.
Open the Record Index →Case Timeline
A strict chronology from 1990 to November 2026, filterable by family, December 26, investigation, forensics, courts and media. Red gap notes mark where the record shows a failure.
Open the Timeline →Who’s Who
The family, officers, prosecutors, labs, judges and records litigants, described by what they did and what the record shows. No theory recaps.
Open Who’s Who →Evidence-to-Lab Map
Each physical item traced to every lab that tested it and the document that records the result, if one is public. Filter by how much of the paper trail exists.
Open the Map →House Map
A floor-by-floor section view of 755 15th Street. Select a room to see what the records place there and which document to read.
Open the House Map →The Record, Not the Theory
Why this library exists, what three decades of public records actually establish, and where the paper trail runs out.
Read the Article →December 26, 2026, marks 30 years. ABC’s 20/20 aired a special on the unknown male DNA on November 6, 2026. Netflix premieres a scripted series on December 10, 2026. Boulder police said in December 2025 that they had new interviews and new testing. Expect a wave of retellings. Use this library to check them against the record.
The Michigan Connection
The case reaches into Michigan’s courts. Boulder investigators searched the Ramseys’ Charlevoix summer home under Michigan warrants twice in 1997. Burke and John Ramsey’s defamation suits against CBS were litigated in Wayne County Circuit Court from 2016 until they ended in January 2019. Those files sit in Michigan, and the Record Index tells you where.
