Reentry is hard enough without being left behind by technology.
And all too often for returning citizens, even the simplest digital tasks, like sending an email, filling out an online job application, or spotting a scam, can feel like impossible roadblocks. And that’s why events like this one matter.
JustUs Solutions LLC is hosting a hands-on workshop, Computer Basics for Reentry, on Saturday, September 13th from 12–3pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Walmesely Center Gym in Seattle.
This event is a community-powered, laid-back space to learn real-world skills in a comfortable and compassionate atmosphere. Participants will receive personalized help with computers, phones, email, documents, and online safety. The workshop also covers privacy tools and scam prevention, both crucial for people navigating life after incarceration.
And because dignity matters:
- Every participant will receive a $35 gift card at the door
- Food will be provided
- No judgment, just support!
Why it Matters
Technology is the gatekeeper to jobs, housing, healthcare, and even family connection. Denying access or assuming people “should already know” creates another layer of exclusion. Workshops like this flip the script—they offer tools, skills, and confidence to level the playing field.
