Michael P. Hatty

Judge Michael P. Hatty presided over both the criminal and civil proceedings arising from Ambrose Sullivan's death. In the criminal case, Hatty sentenced David Vega to seven months in the Livingston County Jail and 36 months of probation following a guilty plea to failure to stop at the scene of a fatal accident. In the civil case, Hatty entered a default judgment against David Vega and Vega Group Inc. after the defendants failed to respond, and public records indicate the resulting judgment remains unsatisfied. Hatty also presided over subsequent creditor examinations involving David and Patricia Vega and later discharged David Vega from probation before the standard expiration of the 36-month term.
