Judge Michael L. Schipper

In his short career, Barry County Michigan Judge Michael Schipper has proven he should never have made it to the bench. He regularly speaks publicly to the media about cases, plays favorites and only allows one media source in his court room, directly manipulates and influences case outcomes, belittles people who appear in his courtroom, and refuses to follow laws enacted by legislature because they were written by "man" such as the sentencing guidelines as laid out by the legislative branch of government. Instead, he doesn't like the guidelines. Despite this declaration, be believes he instead is fit to dictate law, and attempts to legislate from the bench by giving disproportionate sentences and contributing to mass incarceration. He rarely picks rehabilitation, yet acknowledges on court record time and time again that Prison doesn't work.

This man consistently violates constitutional rights and cannot be trusted to keep his word, as over multiple appeals he violates plea agreements.
